which is the best line of march. RIO Gold Trout Line (float). or Taper Scientific Anglers Mastery GPX weight to forward floating fly line?
Tough question. Might as well ask which is better – Catholics and Lutherans? Personally, I gravitate toward Scientific Anglers. I have been using their products for a while and have seen their product lines evolve. However, there is a man here in Y! A whose handle is "Rio". RIO, Scientific Anglers, and a few other companies are really searching for supremacy in the world of flight lines. Both of the lines mentioned in the same point price and are geared to fishermen to buy the upper-middle (?) Range of fly fishing products. They say some of the same features – soldiers loops, improved survivability, heavy weighting for a launch later more aggressive, etc. They also come in neon "and" natural "color. If you are thinking buy the line in a fly shop, you can ask the staff there if any of them have these lines staggered flight until you can prove them. A few years ago I went to my fly shop to get some new fly line and one of the younger employees were trying to increase my sales of "Scientific Anglers' Line Professional "to" line of Mastery "one (same as you are watching). Do not go for him until he pulled out a rod that had this line very into it. I was impressed enough with him to pay the $ 20 it cost me. As I said, I have some brand loyalty from Scientific Anglers, but I'm pretty sure if I bought a fly line in the same price as a different company, would do the job. I will not tell you that your choice does not matter at all, but this probably be reduced to personal preference …
